Greetings from Dr. Jonathan K. Jefferson Dear RCC Community,
I hope everyone enjoyed the July 4th holiday! I have enjoyed meeting and speaking with you over the past few weeks and am happy to send my first formal communication as President of Roxbury Community College (RCC).
During my campus visit as a finalist, I immediately recognized the value of RCC and the critical role that RCC’s internal and external communities have in making RCC a unique and special institution. Interacting with many of you throughout the visit confirmed that with my background in business and higher education, I can work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and RCC supporters to build on a solid foundation and usher RCC into its next era of excellence.
To help continue the hard work completed over the past two and a half years, Jackie Jenkins-Scott, Marta Rosa and Joyce Taylor Gibson are remaining part of the RCC community. Jackie is serving as a Senior Advisor to the President, Marta is serving as Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff to the President, and Joyce is serving as Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs. You will find additional details on RCC’s leadership structure in the attached pdf and the new Office of the President page on RCC’s intranet.
One of my initial priorities is learning more about the College by getting to know all of you. Over the coming weeks, the Office of the President will work with college leadership to schedule my attendance at your staff meetings. I’ll ask you three questions:
Your answers will help shape my year one priorities and jumpstart RCC’s formal strategic planning process.

I believe in the promise of RCC, and I know that each of you is an important part of delivering that promise to RCC students.
